Ready Set Hatch! Set 3/17 Hatch 4/7 - ready now! Hatch-Along

It looks so teeny tiny! I have no idea about d'uccle colors. Does its leg seem okay now?

He's trying to wobble around now. I'm scared he's going to rip that little bit of "chord" its still yellow and yolk like. But he's trying :D

I might look different once it dries?

Dunno the woman show'd me her last hatch of chicks with the Millie hen and there was a lot of chipmunk patterned babies in there. And she only has the 4 millies in the coop. Oh well lol.

Milli fleurs should look kinda like a chipmunk kinda. I'm on my way home and guys I swear I might just through that incubator, eggs and all, out the front door if nothing has happened when I get there

36 new posts! Has been exciting!
Ben! Wake up Ben... I bet you have more chickies!
Hahaha, I'm up. Had a lay in and a coffee, then incubator inspection THEN forum.

Proud to announce we had 4 of 7 out this morning. Then, while cleaning the brooder, one eye on the incubator another 'lorp began to zip. I hung around to watch it hatch. REALLY hoping it would come out blue, but so far, 2/3 have been black, one to go.

Last SPW is just about done zipping, leaving one left (Australorp). The rest are still in there drying out. See how dry they are this evening and might make the transfer all together when I put the other 'bator into lock down.

You have just come into Day 20? Try hold off lobbing that bad boy out the door until Tuesday at least! When you do have a look, I use a pen torch and scan around the big end looking for star shaped cracks or little bulges, that my friend is where the real patience is tested lol Knowing they are nearly ready...but not knowing how long they take to do the last part of absorbing is both exciting and stressful. Hope it all goes quick for you.

Out Hovabotor looks like a chick war zone!

I love it when you wait so long and FINALLY start to see signs of hatching. Congrats!

Another Orp just popped out and another is thinking about it :D

It has started!!!!! I got very let down when I got home and I scanned around the incubator and saw the tiniest little pip in the shell!!!!!!

Fantastic!!!! I'm so glad for you. Remember - they may sit there exactly like it is right now with just a tiny pip - for many hours. They're busy absorbing the yolk and detaching from all those tiny veins in the shell - don't be discouraged. 8, 12, 24 hours is actually normal and necessary. Good luck!
I have 9 out if the shells and a few more that are playing peekaboo through large holes but won't zip. One's been like that for 15 hours. Still nothing from our silkie.

Happy birthday Ben! Hope your day is wonderful - and maybe you'll even get a blue australorp

Thanks Pam!

All ours are no out, 7 from 7 that went into lock down. 7 from 12 total with 4 clears, so pretty happy not to loose any that were actually fertile and grew. Ya DIY 'bator's!

Unfortunately, my birthday wish of a blue 'lorp didn't come true, they all look black to me (wet still) :( At least they are healthy which is the most important part. The will be on the list for next time for sure.

Looks like Battle Royal in there. Brooder is set up and ready for some new fuzzy butts.

Part 2 hatch is almost ready for lock down tonight, ready to do it all again!

Hope everyone else still going has a happy hatch. It's been a blast so far.
