Ready Set Hatch! Set 3/17 Hatch 4/7 - ready now! Hatch-Along

I cluck at mine to accelerate the hatching process....LOL.

Ok so I totally numbered my eggs wrong, 40 went into lockdown! I forgot I didn't number one of them because it looked really weird and had a funky aircell. However I locked it down and lo and behold...a pip! We'll see what happens. 9 left in there :)

Edit: Final tally for the Orpingtons is 8/10. Two had their beaks facing down.

squee! I have babies! One that hadnt even externally pipped did that and hatched in 20 mins! The other that pipped last night just hatched but didn't absorb all its yolk. Hopefully it absorbs it fast. Still no major progression on the one that was first to pip. I'm keeping the exposed membranes moist via a wet qtip shoved into a tubing and fed through one of the vent holes. No opening the Bator!

I have a yellow maran. It was from the assorted marans I bought. Dark brown egg that said "gold" on it... I assumed golden cuckoo since they sell them. It's not cuckoo, barred, spotted...it's yellow. Definitely a marans though - feathered legs, dark egg. I guess we will see as it grows!

But I do have two barnyard mixes hatched and three more pipped. Both hatched are BO/SLW mixes (can tell from their combs). The second chick is actually lighter than the first (though the photos show differently). The second one decided to nap in the egg carton, love the wing hanging down.

Awww! That's mix makes a cute chick. One of mine is a RIR/BO. Looks like a reddish orp- super fluffy :) I think the yellow maran chick is a wheaten. If the two marked "w" ever finish hatching I'll compare. These marans are slooooowwww hatching.
