Ready Set Hatch! Set 3/17 Hatch 4/7 - ready now! Hatch-Along

2 more hatched and the last one popped. 4 more fluffs to come out =) the one that didn't absorb all its yolk isn't fluffing up on his back. Yolk dried out and is still following him but otherwise he's acting normal. One of the ones that just hatched seems to have an issue with one of its legs. Its twisted to the outside and he can't seem to get it under him. Gonna wait till morning to see if strength fixes it.

wow i cant beliece that just now posted... Totally sent that last night... Another one hatched through the night and one just now hatched. Other 2 have pops and one of em the beak is poking out the pip. Babies :-D

I woke up today, checked the eggs.. NOTHING! Went outside to let the chickens out, sat and watched them for about 20 mins, came in and found one of my eggs has a nice pip in it!

But I have a question.. I can see a little blood on the membrane. Is that normal

400

Just one, five more pips.we are in day 21 right now... Stared last night.

Can you get a picture?

We just had an Australorp that had a bit of red in the membrane and it was fine. Took ages to get around to zipping though.

I did see someone else last month say a 'bit of blood', but it was a pool under the egg. Peoples idea of 'a bit' varies.

I picture paints a thousand words.

Also, do you still see movement?

Psh! I'm a nursing student! I have seen quite a lot of blood, and I promise this is just the tiniest bit. :) its not like hemorrhaging out of the egg. Actually its gone now anyways

OK, well gone is a good thing. The pic I saw had a pool, like ALL the chicks blood.

If it's gone it's good. The vessel net work begins to retract once they pip, they won't start to zip until the vessels are reduced to pretty much nothing, and the yolk is gone. Then they start to rotate and peck the shell (zip).

Sorry if you know this, and to anyone else. Just trying to be helpful. I had people explain these things to me so I just want to return the favor.

All sounds good though Dylon, progress you can see!
