Really?!? 28 weeks old, not laying

I have a brown leghorn that is 30+ weeks old and started the squatting dance three weeks ago and then stopped! I keep waiting...Though, I check every five minutes!! Maybe she has stage fright from me always looking at her!! It's not like I don't have anything else to do, I'm just a nut!!

Good luck with your eggs! Maybe next week we will both be posting they finally arrived!!

The first egg I got was at 32 weeks, the day before Christmas...the hen that laid it was the first one to die, and usually laid shelless or membrane-only eggs...I guess they just lay when they feel the time is right.

Our Buff Orphington, SLW and Star are 28 weeks now. The Star has been laying for 6 weeks now. The SLW just started laying this week. The BO is huge but no eggs yet.

My leghorns started at 17 wks. BOs at 24. After that the Stars and the EE. The Welsummer was the last. Since the days are shorter only the leghorns and the BOs are still laying. I'm down to 5 eggs a day . Hope tomorrow is better.

I have a similar thing happening, it’s fall and my 28 week olds are not yet laying. My question for the group is, is layer feed ok to be feeding them?
