Really bummed, and confused?

I'm hoping that something like that happens. Its just strange that one chick hatched (I think prematurely) and the others show no activity at all???

I candled them quickly last night when I had to open the bator for the baby. They all look okay, two look particularly promising... just waiting for them to hatch!

How is the preemie chick holding up & did you have any luck with any of the others??

The preemie chick is doing great! She is really fiesty and very, very loud! I just feel bad for her because she's all alone. I try to spend time with her and hold her but man, she's a handful. Wants to jump out of my hands, so I put her on the floor and she just stands there! I un-pasted her butt last night and checked for any weird stuff back there and she just has a scab where her stuff had been hanging out. So she's fine!

The other eggs in her batch have not hatched. I do have a staggered hatch going and some that are scheduled to hatch in a few days, so hopefully she won't be alone too much longer!

right now she's in my front sweatshirt pocket in my hand, sound asleep. typing one-handed cuz she wont let me remove my hand from my pocket. to her, curling up in my hand is the same as being under mom's wing!

Hey.. I have 17 mix egg in lockdown and aswell hoping for the best but at this stage have almost none.. Yesterday before lockdown the eggs was going crazy moving but no thirp.. But today nothing is moving... Its my second batch first batch if got 10 pritty chicks

Maybe I have candle to long yesterday before lockdown because I have baught myself a new candler so for the first time n could see the chich moving inside the shell and it was so pritty all that vains and movement I couldn't help myself

Oh my this little chickie is getting really spoiled! She's used to being toted around in my sweatshirt pocket or hanging out on my desk. She curled up in a towel last night on the couch next to me and we both fell asleep.

I made her a tent from a towel for her to curl up underneath, inside of her brooder and she's got a radio tuned in to the classical station to keep her company. She's quite content now and rarely yells for me anymore. However, I still take her out for lots of cuddles, but she's much happier these days even if she's an "only chick".

I tucked he in my shirt. breathed on her, and put her in to two 2 egg carton lids and breathed on her all night to keep her warm.(don't preach I am a light sleeper, and a light weight.) next day she was as normal as the rest of the birds.

I had a chick when I was nine. My dad had to remove him from the egg entirely because the hen had already left the nest with the other chicks. I kept him in my armpit, wrapped in a blanket for nine hours on the couch. He emerged all fluffy and normal looking but had difficulty walking. He learned, and his legs gained strength. He always thought I was his mother though. That was not always most convenient at times. He turned into a big pretty rooster who was mean to everyone but me!
