Really cold temperatures (for here) Do I need to provide heat?

Where do you live??? What are the winter temps like in your area??

If you are only going to have TWO hens, then you need to make sure that your coop is very small - or is partitioned off so that the two hens will keep each other warm.

First what kind of hens do you have? Some need more help than others. Do they have big combs? Do you have wide perches so their feet can be covered by their feathers on the roost? I guess hens are like people we adapt to a certain point. I would not normally add any heat in NC unless it drops low in the 20's but my birds are all feathered out and in a secure coop. I could probably go on down but I feel better since it is their first winter adding just a little bit. Jean

Hey, ya, Resolution, welcome!

Would just like to inquire as to whether you are the same `Resolution' that posted on the EZBYC? That Resolution was also knowledgeable about nutrition, and sometimes carried a Black Sumatran? Roo on a shoulder.
