Really noisy chickens

Apparently the "egg song" is something else I have to look forward to? I have two leghorn hens, not of laying age quite yet (but getting closer). The white one seems to love me. She loves to fly up and perch on me. Doesn't budge when I walk around with her, and lets me pet her. She's a sweetie. I have different theories on the "egg song". 1) They want their favorite human to support them through the "labor pains". 2) The song is due to the "labor pains". 3) They are announcing to anyone and anything around that they have eggs in their nest(s), and not to come near. My neighbors don't seem to mind the rooster crowing. Hopefully they won't mind the hens "egg songs" if they do it. lol

BTW: Is it just the younger, more inexperienced hens that do it, or do they still do it when they get older?

Mine have just started to become noisy the past couple of days. Their combs are starting to turn from pink to red so hopefully they're discussing who's gonna lay the first egg...

I am unsure how to do a new post (any tips would be greatly appreciated!) but my silkie hens have recently come to their point of lay(approx 3 months ago) and are doing fabulously egg - wise! Each laying one very cute egg each day.. Only problem, they are noisy all the time! It starts in the morning (book book book book) at 5:00am and gets louder-it doesn't appear to stop except when they go back up into their coop at night. I am really worried that the neighbors are going to complain and considering giving them away but I love them so much! Any tips? Are they bored? Can I add something to their coop/run? Thank you :)
