Really odd addition to yolk?

I was making breakfast this morning and I cracked one of my girl's eggs open and there was something quite odd. Attached to the yolk was a little white cord that ended in a small round, reddish dot/blob. Does anyone know what this was? I took a picture but it's on my phone so I'll post that later. I don't think it was the regular white string that has to do with the membrane or the blastoderm. I also do not have a rooster. Can someone help? Thank you!

Whoops! I'm sorry, here:
(I drew a line where the white cord was, it was also braided)
 
Looks like a meat/blood spot hung up with the chalaza twist.
The chalaza is created by the membrane twisting.
