We noticed 2 days ago that one of our hens comb was pale red. We've been raising chickens for 8 years now and have never noticed anything like this. Today, however we saw her while the flock was grazing, stumbling and actually falling over. Her comb was very pale and almost like it was gray!! Does this sound familiar to anyone?. She had to be carried back to the coop..

It doesn't sound good. I hope someone with more experience can be of more help.

I recently had one hen with a gray, waxy looking comb and a swollen eye and another that was drunk-walking. I treated the whole flock with colloidal silver in yogurt for two weeks and am currently following up with probiotics. Everyone was so much better after a week of treatment.

He she been eating? How is her crop feeling? I have one hen that stops eating every fall. Usually starts around her molt. Her comb has gotten pale and one year turned gray. I've never seen her stumble but she would stand and stare off into space.

Once I get her eating again she snaps out of it.

Did you separate her into her own cage. Possibly in a warmer place if it's cold where you are. You may need to get some fluids and some kind of electrolytes in her.
