Hi all,

Long time, first time.

We have three 5 1/2 week old baby buffs. They've been in the coop for about a week now (we're in SoCal and it's warm here).

Since they've gone outside, our littlest girl, Lizzie, has been sleeping a ton. Her sisters run around pretty much constantly and when she's awake she walks around and pecks at grass and eats and drinks but she is sleeping / napping A LOT. Like every 45 minutes or so? She's not got any signs of cocci and they're on medicated starter feed with amprolium but I'm still a tad worried.

She's smaller than the others and puffs herself up pretty frequently like she's cold but otherwise she's a content lil chick.

Anyone else experience this? Am I just being an overly fretful mom?

Her poop is runny, but no blood or anything like that. She is eating and drinking, and - again - when she's awake she's like a normal chick (albeit a bit slower and less enthusiastic than her sisters). It seems like she has a cold or a virus.

I could feel her crop if I wanted to, I can pick her up and hold her easily but I have no idea what to feel for?

UPDATE! She's been doing much better! Still less energetic than her sisters, but not napping like a narcoleptic anymore. We added some apple cider vinegar to their water and I'm not sure if that was it or she was just cycling through a virus, but she's back to her old / young self. Thanks, everyone!

So glad she is doing better! How much apple cider vinegar do you use?
