Really Tame Breed?

My OEG hens are by far the friendliest chickens I've ever had, in twenty years of raising chickens. They actually come up and ask to get picked up! They are always chattering and talking to me. I haven't done anything special to make them tame as far as handling, either.
I have a couple of production red Pullets who seem like they may be pretty gentle but they're only six weeks old, so a little early to know for sure. Another breed I haven't seen mentioned is naked necks. They are very gentle, even the roosters. They lay huge brown eggs, are hardy, do well in heat and cold and never fail to get comments from visitors who think they are a turkey chicken hybrid or something.

silkies!...Cochins (bantams i think are tamer) otherwise any breed can be tamed. we have a rooster that we baught with 2 other chicks, dog killed the other 2 so to keep him quiet we had to carry him around the house and sleep with our arm in the brooder, he is 5 years old now and is sooooo tame and always in the way

Some breeds are known for being tamer than others, but ultimately I think it really depends on the individual chicken / rooster. I've known the sweetest silkies ever - and then I've also known the nastiest silkie roo who would attack anyone, anywhere (he wasn't mine, but I know what I would have done with him). My two current silkies are standoffish, despite me spending lots of time holding them as chicks (dealing with pasty vents that silkies are so known for). Someone posted earlier that their wyandottes were super tame. Mine were super flighty from day one and never did tame up.
FWIW, of my current group, the EEs are the tamest and were from the start. They're very friendly, come right up to me for chest and neck rubs, and one likes to fly onto my back when I bend over - it's her little game

. Next tame would be the brahmas (only because they don't have the outgoing personalities of my EEs), then the marans (who run hot and cold when it comes to wanting to hang out), then the standoffish silkies. I've also had buff orpingtons that were super sweet and friendly - much like the EEs I have today.
