Really Tame Breed?

What do you mean they aren't "real" chickens?

Barred Rocks, Black Stars, Orpingtons, some Sussex. And of course Silkies.

We now have Barred Rocks and Black Stars; some of them volunteer to ride around on my husband's wrist. The others will climb on if he puts his wrist down in front of them and slides it so they step up.

Brahmas, Favoreles and Russian Orloffs.

My spangled RO cockerel follows me around and the pullet opens her mouth for dewormer! They are nicer than some of my bratty silkies!

I Hatched 3 RIR, 3 black australope, 3 buff orps and a barred rock and the buff orps are the friendliest of the bunch, the BA and RIR don't like to be held at all, they are kind of a pain. The BR is pretty friendly too, she will actually come when called.

i have 5 pullets...

buff orp - she's the most mellow and "fearless"... will be the first at my feet...very tame, quiet and docile but surprisingly always the quickest/first to the treats...longs for affection
EE - very friendly and inquisitive and will keep her distance and dislike being touched or carried... on the quiet side as well and somewhat demanding
RIR - don't like being handled or touched... will run up to me for treats but will keep a distance...and will always nip my hands and fingers..peck my feet...
marans - mellow but tries to keep away if she knows i want to touch her...gets very excited to see me..will let me sorta pet her but will bawwwk at me... on the demanding side...
brown leghorn - inquisitive but flightly has heck...easily spook and very jumpy...also don't like being handled...first to sound the alarm...nervious nelly... on the noisy side

so... i would have to say buff orp... also she has the 'fulliest' looking body/feather so i am assuming she thrives in cooler climate.. and that's my 2 cents
