We have snow but we have sweet ice tea, we have southern hospitality but not much okra consumption, we do have plenty of moonshine but not much watermelon wine or very many peaches at all. West Viginia seems very Southern to me from the couple of times I've been there.
Speaking for myself, I think the South would be proud to claim West Virginia-beautiful place, by the way.

I agree with the 'rural thing not a southern thing" Here in Yankee land NY I sit on my front porch, sip sweet tea, grow a huge garden, wave to passersby, raise chickens, listen to the peepers in the swamp on an early spring eve, catch lightning bugs, pretty much the same as " all-yall" septin

I get to play in the snow.

. But I must say I love to vacation every year in beautiful warm and friendly North Topsail Island NC.
Best thing about the north is we get a true 4 seasons and look forward to each new season as it arrives.

Thank you! I think so too! I do believe most Yankees consider WV South, just not deep South.....

I'm weird.. I have always considered; Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky,Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, as the southern states..

And,..The the north starts at New Jersey/Pennsylvania on up...
I just dont consider North Carolina as south or Virginias either.... dont know why..

But they arent north either...
And Texas and on west are the "Western" states... and Cali is in a world all its own...

I Know!.. I know! I make no sense.. But do i ever?... Dont yell at me...
