Reasons why Chickens wont lay

Heat, stress, illness and molting are a few things I have come across. Pullets shouldn't have the molting problem though. My first experience with molting occurred when my first hens were almost 2 years old. I fed them high quality cat food along with their regular feed. Their feathers grew back quickly and they were laying again in 2-3 weeks. With the heat there's a few things you can do to help, but they may still choose not to lay. Here's a great blog that gives lots of info on how to beat the heat: http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/04/beat-heat-how-to-help-chickens-survive.html.
