Rebuilding my Farm

I will be praying.
Thanks BobBry.

Hi all, I have not posted updates on my farm in a while. Shame on me.
Regarding what BobBry above posted, I have discovered one of my peafowl is coming down with what I think is MG.

Here are the details-
Last Saturday, I wanted to take a good look at the white peacock for his eye looked dirty, so I grabbed him, and looked at his head, and saw that he had a running nose, a watery eye, and a puffy sinus. My first thought was ''OH NO, NOT MG!! PLEASE!
He has looked like what my turkey hen had last year that resulted destroying my flocks last fall. I had the vet come today, and he drew some blood out of the sick peacock, and 2 roos just to be sure-an Icelandic roo, and a Tomaru roo, and he will send the blood samples to the state lab to be tested. I will know the results within a week. I am so depressed that there may be a chance that I will have to kill everything again, if the test results comes back positive for Mycoplasma G.
I just can't believe that its happening again, I had disinfected everything, and did not let anyone besides family members (I am the only one in the family that has poultry) pass the driveway, and this is happening. I am praying that is something else that is not serious, then I will not have to kill all of my baby chicks, and adult birds that I have. It hurts.
All the birds are confined in their pens until further notice. As soon the test results comes back, and if it is positive, then I will have to kill everything on site, I do not wait to wait too long this time, just get it done and over with, but I pray that the test comes back negative.
I will be praying.

Daron,

Ugh. I'm sorry that you're going through this after all the work you've done to rebuild. I'm hoping for the best, as you likely are, too. I know that I'm not alone in that feeling. Please keep us posted.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. I really appreciate it.

While we are waiting for the test results to come back, I will update on what I have been doing in the last month.

Well, where to start.... Have done so much! lol

Well, my siblings and I had built a cow shed for our bull calves, and set up fencing for them too.

Cow shed

The fencing- Its about 3 acres total.

In the woods going down in the ravine.

The creek will be the calve's ''waterhole''

I am the king of the hill!!

No! I am!!

We will be getting a heifer or a cow soon for family uses, like milk and such.

I will post more later about my coop. :)

Just read the updates and was shocked. I'm going to cross fingers and toes that it isn't what it looks like.
I love your cow shed. Your property is beautiful and the King of the Hill photos are outstanding.
Holding good thoughts for you and your flock -

Thanks. :)

I have not gotten the results yet. :he

We have gotten sand for the coop and the cow shed a few weeks ago, and loved it. There is no more muddy pens, and smell from the water going into the coop from melting snow and rainwater. :woot

The silly Icelandic roosters got on the roost right after I had moved them to this pen. They were not wanting to get down on the strange, too soft ground for a while. They were crowing non-stop for like 15 minutes, before 1 got brave enough to jump down, then others followed suit.

I have finished with the inside of the coop, and just have to install the water line for the automatic watering system with nipples, and make 8 more of these trash feeders-
