Recent Posts - Set to 1 hour (instead of 24)

I, too, think it would be valuable to have a link "Show posts from last 24 hours."

I think a LOT of people like to leisurely browse through the current day's conversations without needing to specialize their browsing by topic.

Sometimes people don't visit for a week or more, and would be reluctant to click on "Show new posts since last visit" and face a barrage of threads that have posted during that time. Of course they would only need to look through the first few pages, but I don't know that that idea would intuitively override resistance from previous mental programming. I know that my aversion to overload has caused me to never use that link to this point.
And thousands of us have become accustomed to the 24-hours thread listing as the standard. We'd have to consciously re-evaluate our prior logic patterns to realize we could view the same through an alternate means!! That would take non-automatic thinking!

-- Maybe "Show posts from last 24 hours" could be added at the top left underneath "Logged in as" and "Last visit" when you go to Recent Posts?

-- Or better yet, maybe put the "Show new posts since last visit" there where people would be far more likely to notice it, even if you don't add "Show posts from last 24 hours". And if you also wanted to, you could still add the "Show posts from last 24 hours" link where the "Show new posts since last visit" link used to be. That way the header wouldn't take up any more room either.

-- WAIT! Best idea of all that I've come up with:
*** Where the site lists "Pages: 1, 2, 3, ... 6" afterwards add "Last 24 hours." ***
That way the system wouldn't be bogged down listing all those pages for people not really wanting to see them, but those who love to browse that way could easily and intuitively access the format they know and love!

[It might still also be useful to move the "Show new posts since last visit" link as suggested in my second idea, so people would notice it more, plus close cross-referencing to time of last login would perhaps amelioriate prior resistance since the BYCer could readily review how long it's been. A possibility.]

What do each of you as other members of the BYC-browsing populace think?

Another idea:
Maybe move "Show Your Posts" from bottom of Recent Posts page into header where "Show Posts since Last Login" link has been. I'm guessing that link is frequently used and it would be more convenient if in the header so you wouldn't need to scroll to the end of the page to select it.

I'm hoping none of these ideas would require a lot of work?? I SOOOOO appreciate all the work the powers that be put into providing a GREAT site!
