We have six girls they almost 4 and have been together since birth. We lost one two weeks ago. I have been paying attention to them during the day and do not see any obvious bullying. However, I think the one in the box is the lowest in the pecking order along with the one we just lost Should I be going out and putting her back on the roost? Any help would be appreciated

I had one that was trying to sleep in the nest box as well. I removed her & put her on the roost every night. She started jumping out of the nest box when I opened it & would go to the roost after I put her on the roost the first few nights.

I will go out and put her on the roost. I just hope they’re not bullying her at night. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks. Nothing

Yes I'd put her back on the roost, or block nest boxes right before bedtime and then unblock them once it's completely dark.

Could be a shake up in the pecking order with the one bird gone, or maybe a bit of a stress reaction depending on how that bird died.

As long as it's dark, they can't see to pick. I let my girls sleep on the droppings box ledge if they really don't want to be on the roost. I hate when they get bullied! Good luck!
