Good day everyone.
I am so confused and need your help.
We purchased two ''pure white'' stunning Silkies and the hen went broody a month later. (I am however confused about the white part since they actually look ''light buff'' in colour to me)
Anyway, we let her hatch some eggs but now that the babies are 4 weeks old they all look like Silver Partridge, every single one of them!
Can anyone explain to me how this could be possible?
I can understand that dominant white can carry a recessive gene for another colour but how on earth can two recessive white birds make silver partridge babies?
Could my hen have mated with a partridge rooster BEFORE she was delivered to my house or is there something ''wrong'' with the genes in both my birds?
