UPDATE Our neighbor has an alarm company, and he has a couple single camera DVR units laying around. He is going to install one for us that we can just borrow for a few weeks until we figure out what is messing around with our babes!! AWESOME!!

I am ticked about the recent death of my young roo (cockerel). I want to know what is hanging around.

What kind of game cameras do you guys have? Pros/cons? Infrared vs. flash? My hubby thinks that a flash might scare something off since we live in the woods...I don't know...raccoons are so nosey.

Gimme the scoop, Oh Wise Ones!!

i leave my flash on but you can turn it off. it doesnt seem to deter anything. the only reason i'd turn it off is if i thought i was going to be photographing some people who might steal it. it takes a better picture with the flash on..

cons are the instructions are hidden inside the camera and you have to figure out how to get it open to find everything you need, lol. i almost sent it back thinking everything didnt come with it! mine takes 6 D batteries and they last a few weeks.

I bought a Game Cam a few years ago, as someone/something was moving stuff around on the front porch... Never did catch it... But have used it over the years and it has caught some thiefs on the property.. I have it loaned out right now, so cant get the model from it.. only problem is the battery is short lived, about a week...

The flash doesnt seem to bother any of them :)

I use a wildview game cam. Probably one of the cheapest ones out there. 4 C batts. doesnt have time or temp posting. I like it.

Next one will be infra red instead of flash.

Also bought a remote operated infra red camerea on ebay for like 25 bucks. Needs power cord but broadcasts sound and all wireless. Keep it in the barn to watch the coons and all. hook it up to the portable DVD player.
