Are there any books you would recommend for a beginner? Just thought I would like to have an informative book that would help increase my knowledge about my new chickens. They are almost ready to start laying. Thanks Kathy

Welcome! I like Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens; there are others, but it's a good start. Mary

That one's is one of the best, if you have to buy, but has somewhat dated info in some regards.
There are a plethora of chicken books out there, 98% of them aren't worth the money, IMO.
Borrow from the library first and thoroughly review before buying a copy.
