Recommended brand of dog food??

I hate the lack of transparency with the companies as to who is really making their foods. I have read of some general discourses amongst some people about Blue Buffalo being bought out by.. General Mills, I believe? So far I have had no problems, knock on wood.

I have heard good things about Earthborn. I think I tried some of their cat food years ago and my picky eater did not like it but maybe I will try it again, lol.
I agree! Why they do it is beyond me but, I know dog food companies aren't the only ones doing it.
I have come to a conclusion that any company can simply lie. It's a bit off the topic of dogs but an example, when companies can claim they're Non-GMO only to find out later they really are GMOed.

I don't recall if the OP's dog was diagnosed thoroughly by the vet. Seizures definitely need a vet to sort out root cause. It is far to easy to point at feed as the cause imho.
Because the vets around us aren't seeing anyone, I had to call a few. Many of them agreed with us that it had to be the food. I talked with them for a while on the phone about everything that changed and the food was the only recent change.

As someone already pointed out, yes, my parents won't let us switch them over to raw completely. They do get raw meat scraps here and there but we've done that for many years. Also since all 3 have grown up stealing many eggs from our old coop, they will sometimes get a fresh egg each mixed into their kibble. Again, we've done this for many years so couldn't have been the cause either.
I apologize for being late in responding here, I slept in until noon because I was up until 2am.

Do you think Canidae would work for him?
I tried to find my source online, but I cannot. I found most dog foods rated and canidae had an a+ on nutrition, purity, and low levels of heavy metals. A lot of.dog food, even the expensive stuff has heavy metals in it. I am pretty sure that taste of the wild gave my dog cancer. My new dog is getting fed blue buffalo, and I heard even that isn't great food, so I will be making his food once the bag is empty.
but yeah, canidae had the highest rating.

Years ago we gave our Rottweilers taste of the wild that our grandmother(dad's side) gave us and it ended up killing our 2 of them(mother & son) within a week of each other and we had to make the decision to put the last one(father) to sleep because we couldn't continue letting him suffer from it. I still miss all 3 of them; Carl(father), Sadie(mother), and Koda(son).

oh.my gosh! I am sorry! Our dog suffered longer than we should have let it last. I still kick myself for it. There was a recall because of excessive lead I found out a couple years later. What really infuriated me was that we were broke.....like really broke. Always behind on rent and payments, even had our gas turned off at one point. But I was adamant that we buy the "good dog food" for our dog so he will live as long as possible, he ended up living shorter than all the other dogs I grew up with that my mom fed pedigree. Makes you wonder.

I can't remember how old Koda and Sadie were but Carl was 15 when we put him to sleep. The vets that put him to sleep were amazed that he lived for so long.
Our current male, Mooshu, we got in 2012 but we did have a female we got in 2011 so it was just before then that we put Carl to sleep. Not sure the year but I'll ask my dad or mom later.

I've read good things about Dr. Tim's, Petcurean GO!, and NutriSource. I have fed my cats the NutriSource and had good results with it but they stopped carrying it on chewy.com. i think my local feed store might have it though, come to think of it
