Who keeps track of how many eggs you get, and how do you do it?
Paper and pencil? Computer?

I have a composition notebook (you know, the old hardback $1.00 kind from high school). The first few pages have places to list all my poultry (date acquired or hatched, identifiers, bands, names, disposition, etc.). After that I just treat it like a journal and make an entry for every day including eggs laid, eggs sold, any unusual occurrences, any treatments or special care one of them might need, and usually weather and any interesting family stuff or activities. At the end of each page I total the number of eggs added to the number of eggs from the previous page as well as the amount of eggs I may have sold or given away. It's not very scientific but it lets me keep up with what's going on.

I always get given too many calendars at christmastime, so I keep one in with the chickens with a pencil on a string, and each day I tally off how many eggs I got, note when I start a new bag of feed, that sort of thing. It would be easy to tabulate if I ever really cared, and in the meantime it avoids the work of actual data entry

I am using a software program I found on here by someone named Stephen. Keeping track of everything we buy etc. Not because I'm trying to make money but just cause I'm like that. Have to know all the facts. We don't get eggs yet but I was going to put a calendar in the coop and write the layers & number of eggs on it so I could then put them on the puter all at one time.
