On Saturday night, I posted about my hen Max behaving very lethargically and not eating. Some kind folks on here lead me to believe she had sour crop, which I have been treating her for since Sunday after getting her crop to empty on Saturday night. Max seems a bit better. I have given her some garlic water and plain greek yogurt after her crop emptied when I massaged it with oil. She still seems a little sleepy and is very very finnicky with what food and water she will take right now. Is this normal for a chicken recovering from sour crop? If so, how long should I expect this during her recovery stage? She likes eating watermelon and a little bit of cucumber and seems occasionally interested in seeds, and as of last night she started drinking water on her own again. Anything I can give her to entice her or speed up the recovery process? Is it normal for her droppings to still be a bit watery or colored a little differently than usual? Any advice is greatly appreciated, and thank you to those who were kind and helpful so far.
