The details aren't recurring for me, but the theme is. I'm travelling. There are motel rooms, luggage, airports, taxis, those sorts of things. I'm in transit. I think it reflects my core belief that "this world is not my home." Or ... maybe it's my brain trying to catch up to the fact that I've moved over 50 times in my life. Like, maybe WAAAY over. 🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s an unbelievable number of moves! 🤯

I don't have recurring dreams, but I've had the same theme a couple of times.
1. I'm trying to call someone on either a payphone (push button) or a rotary dial. (Yup, I'm old.) I cannot complete the call because I misdial and have to start over, or I get to the last digit and don't know if I dialed it, or my finger is acting weird (I can't hit the button or make it turn the dial). I have had this dream or a variation a few times. I figured out that it means there is something I need to communicate to someone, but I'm having a difficult time doing it or "getting through" to them.

2. I am on my way somewhere, and I have to be there at a certain time. On my way, I get sidetracked into doing something else, or I take a wrong turn, or it's at a different location than I thought. I have the feeling of time passing, but I'm not getting closer to my destination. I see clocks, or look at the clock in the car (if I'm driving) and it's 10-15 minutes later, but I'm not making any progress. I'm not sure what this dream means.

I have this dream ALL THE TIME! Didn’t realize it could have a hidden meaning. 🤔

Yes! During my 24 years of marriage to my DH#1, we moved 27 times. And that's beside the fact that we actually owned property. He was in the construction trades and we followed his work. After our divorce I will just say it took me a while to get my footing. I have no idea how many times I actually moved but I would put it between 20 and 50. I've been stable here for 15+ years, though, and don't plan to move again till Jesus comes! 😁

There's a small part of me that likes moving. Having a fresh start, new adventures, etc. But I'm also a big homebody that loves having my own safe, little nook in the world.

I can absolutely see why that many moves would bleed into your dreams. Glad you finally found your forever home (in this life 😊).

I have one recurring dream that I've had ever since I first got chickens as a teenager (without saying my age; a while ago...).

The dream is that I've somehow forgotten I had animals that were my responsibility. I keep finding them all over, sometimes in bad condition. First it was only chickens, but now it can be dogs, livestock, other birds etc.

I've actually grown to appreciate these dreams, even if they can be rattling. They remind me of my responsibility as an animal owner, and keep me on my toes.

Not sure how much traction I'll get on this, but...who else has recurring dreams? Give me a short synopsis (and please keep it BYC-friendly). I'd be interested to see how many are shared. I'll go first:

I'm driving and the brakes don't work.
Oof, I have had that one! Aside from the variations on the "how did i end up in public naked??!" Dream, i have 2 main ones that have been reoccurring since childhood. The first is a silly thing where my uncle told me a story about the boogy man (which I took to mean "booger" man) and I had a dream about having to move into a new house where every time you go up the stairs a scooby-doo-esk snot monster slurps out from between the stairs and tries to absorb me into his boogers. 🤣 The first few times as a kid as really scared me, but now its always has this humorous undertone like a play scream for help.

The second is where I'm being chased by unknown large scary men, 😨 but the more I pray the faster I can run, and the higher I can leap, until I'm going so fast that I'm basically flying with tiny touchdowns and leaving them all behind, but then as I go I realize they are everywhere, they have taken over the whole world and are actually just the goons for the real bad guys. Who the real bad guys are often changes, but common versions include carnivorous aliens 👽 who are disguised 🥸 as golden retriever puppies, or a more serious version were they are world wide slaver kings. Whoever the bad guys are I'm somehow able to leave them behind as I leap/fly to safety constantly, but I know if i stop moving I'll loose the ability, and im terrified I'm going to get too tired. But as long as I keep praying I'm ok and not tired and can keep going. It's an interesting one, started as a kids dream but is now a nice spiritual metaphor!

I also have versions of this one, or similar about my kids. The "forgot the baby in the back seat" one has left me sobbing sometimes.
