So I was working on my run today, and could not find the box of washers I bought, anywhere. Sooo, I spied a bunch of bottle caps from DH's homebrew that went stale and got thrown on the compost. I put them bottle side down on the corners of the welded wire, screwed through them into the wood, and they hold the wire like a dream. They deform around the wire as they're screwed down, and the little toothy edges grip the wire and wood perfectly. Instead of using the washers, I'm headed to the brew store this week to by more bottle caps to finish off the run! Also, they're available in different colors, so I have red ones to coordinate with the coop!
