I'll be raising some red broilers and black broilers (from Ideal Hatchery) this spring. I've raised pullet chicks for my laying flock for a few years now, but this is my first time raising broilers. I've heard they need higher protein that pullets. I'll be using a commercial feed. What % protein feed should I use? Also, when can these types of broilers be butchered to get the most and best quality meat?
