Red bloody poop from chick

Found this in chicks brooder today. They are 3 weeks old. Just had one die last week unexpectedly, not sure if it's from the same thing. What would cause red and bloody poop? What can I do? Thank you!!

Coccidiosis is the most common cause of blood in droppings. Go get some Corid (amprollium) powder or liquid from your local feed store or TSC. Start treatment of all chicks right away. Dosage is 1 1/2 tsp of the powder or 2 tsp (10 ml) of the liquid Corid per gallon for 5-7 days. Make sure the affected chick is drinking well. How are they all behaving. Are any lethargic or standing around hunched?

It can be caused by a parasite called coccidia. There are up to nine different species that target chickens. Other animals have their own coccidia species. They live in the soil and are everywhere like bacteria are.

When a chick fails to develop resistance, the coccidia will colonize the gut and proceed to go through an entire life cycle finishing just short of killing the chick, but a chick can die from complications such as the erosion of the intestinal lining, which is where the blood in the stool comes from.

Treatment should include all chickens in a flock as it's passed chicken to chicken through being exposed to the poop. Treatment is amprolium or a similar coccidiostat. In the USA, we buy it under the label Corid. You may also need to treat with a sulfa antibiotic since the amount of blood in the stool is pretty heavy, indicating the chick may also be suffering from necrotic enteritis.
