red/bloody yoke

Had a yoke that was red in color or blood. looked normal except the color. Didnt eat it looked gross.
Does this happen often?
 
No, but it is normal for a lot of odd things happen occasionally. It would not have hurt you to eat it. I'd have scrambled it and fed it to the dogs!
 
That usually happens if an egg is gathered a little too late befor refrigeration.

I wouldn't have eaten it either. However, feeding eggs to your dog isn't a good idea, if you don't want "egg suckers"
