Hi my hen just hatched out 12 red bourbon poults about 5 days ago. When can I safely sell them and what is the going price for poults?

Any other input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dennis

Bourbon Reds are a heritage variety, heritage turkeys go for $10-$12 each in most parts.

Broad Breasted turkeys are less expensive I pay between $4-5 per Broad Breasted poult.

As for how old should they be to rehome, I always hold my brooder raised poults for atleast a week sometimes a little more. I haven't sold poults raised by mama yet but I think what I would do would take them from mama when your ready and then watch them in the brooder for a few days to still be sure they are looking for food and water and not looking for mama hen.

I sell them for $8 in Texas. That is the average price where I live. I sell 50 + each year.

I paid a ton for mine D: $20 each... had to drive to get them, they were the only turkeys I could find hatched here in FL.
