the dark color to the face and comb, bordering on black looks kind of purpleish, the earlobes will turn a purple color when in production. this is a common trait with birchen based (ER) birds.

What you descriced is a defect in Cochins. The face, comb, and earlobes should be bright red without any other color present.
You have a very pretty bird here. Brown Reds are very srtiking in color. These have actually been around for many years, just not many people breed them. Just as the Columbian or Buff Columbian. You birds cushion looks a little high for a Cochin, and it is not as round as should be, but if you have no intentions of showing her then you are all set. Her color is amazing, and should throw you some very nice chicks. Congrats.
