This is a very old thread... But as others pointed out, hatchery quality BCM don't always have feathered feet. And if it were a BSL, it would be barred, because it's a rooster.

Here's one of my hatchery pullets, who could be either BSL or BCM (or BCM cross). I'll have to wait until she starts laying to get a better idea, but even then, as hatchery stock, even if she is a BCM she might not have those dark brown BCM eggs.

She's a BSL not a Marans. She has yellow skin on her shanks while Marans have dark legs with white skin. She also is not the correct variety with her chest markings

I do think she's a BSL— but I've seen/read about hatchery quality marans that look incredibly similar, including yellowish legs and the markings on the chest. It's considered a flaw for showing and against the SOP. If Aliss was from a good breeder then I'd 100% agree with you but she's from hoover's. They don't exactly breed to standard.

But yeah, she's almost definitely a BSL. There's just a slight possibility she's a marans/cross.
