Red golden pheasant at pet store.

If they were for sale, I bet it would be like 100 bucks or more.

Kind of like their $75 rabbits that are 10-15 at the feed store, or their $10 rats which are just color variants of the ones people kill millions of per year.

Gotta love how their black hamsters are $25, and regular brown ones are $10.

This is what the ad says.

What state are these listed in?Please don't say Louisianna.By the spelling if you copied it like they wrote it,watch out. There was a scammer a while back that spelled words like this ad.He has been prosucuted recently, but some people just don't learn.
Lophura knows who I am talking about and hopefully this is not him.I pray that he learned his lesson.
In N.H.,Tony.

He's in upstate NY. Here's his response to my price inquiry:

300 is the best i would go,to sell them seperate
4 red hens 100
swinhoe treo 150
silver treo 50
yeloow pair 50
3 yellow males 50
1 splash male 40
2 alaskan snows 20

I don't know much about pheasants, but they are '06 and '07 birds, does that mean they're past their prime, like with chickens?

Is there anything on his list that is worth the asking price?

What is it about the ad that raises red flags to you?
I've wanted pheasants, but perhaps I should hatch some myself?
I trust you guys, so I'll skip this offer. Thanks!

second, if the guy has that many birds, he must know what he's talking about,, and im sure he hasnt seen too many treo's for sale,,, lots of trio's tho,,, and he should least have pics,,, ANY bird owner knows that,,,,,, and,, well,,, i dont know,, but "willies" for sure,,,,,, and im one to JUMP at things like that,, lol,, it just dont "feel" right,,,,, maybe just cause of the other dude that was scamming,,,, but he sure does sound the same.......
i would ask him for his phone # if you really want them, and pics, and for him to send ya a written guarantee that they are as good as he tells you, and if they are not, he is responsible for the cost of the trip. then,, ask him for his drivers license # ,, if he wont give that,, then he dont want you to know who he really is.

I honesty would pass too... based on spelling, formatting, lack of explicit information, and general feeling of the post. Much like the1much's feelings from the ad too.

Of course, if they are not far, can't hurt to check them out or see the birds in person.

One tip I have for internet dealings with personal peoples, is to have a unique account for only internet deals. Incase someone wanted to look you up, sign you up for spam, and so on, easier to keep your real life stuff clean if you use an account apart from your home one.
