I have had great success with honey.on nasty wounds..it does not need to be anything special..but mine is organic. Wash and soak as previously mentioned.. treat with honey on wounds and then i wrapp..and keep her in a clean cage..
Honey kills bacteria and infection. IF infection is present, an enzyme in the honey reacts as hydrogen peroxide, so it can be uncomforable.It should also smothers any mites if they are present...though im not sure only one leg would be affected..Glad she survived amd looks to be recovering well...
