Thank you all for the information. I now have eight hens and one rooster. I meet the space requirements for the coop and outside space. I place them in the coop at night with a heat lamp because our temperatures reach negative degrees at night. I let them free range the property on the weekends or whenever we are home. I never had a problem like this until this week. The outside coop area is completely fenced in and it doesn't appear that any predators have gotten in. It does appear that one hen is acting more aggressively than the others. As a matter of fact.....I call her "mother hen". I thought she was going to be a rooster when she was a chick.
