Red Laced Cornish X and project talk (pics p. 8)

I wish you luck! Hopefully someone can come up with a great dual purpose for the heat other than those ugly naked necks.

I can't believe it took so long for someone to post something like that LOL!!
Yeah, people do love those things, too bad they're so ugly :gig

well hi there everyone! Haven't been on for about a year now lol came to the meat bird thread to say hi and there was my thread on page one! I;m thinking it will take me awhile to read through all the new posts. But wanted to say I am back among the living! My meat birds are doing AWESOME . . . INCREDIBLE . . . AMAZING!!! I will post some picks in the next day or so. Hope you are all well, happy and have LOTS of chickens xoxox

let's see if I can uplaod an image in this new format . . . If it works this is one of this years main breeding roos. He's 10 lbs at 20 weeks and already on the hens. He appears to be adept at the job, nice wide stance and good balance. The one with the blue lacing on his chest is his daddy who we will continue to use this year, so as you can see we are getting over the sustainable/longevity issue :))))

well hi there then! I don't remember knowing you? But glad to meet 'cha :) I used Marans in my original crosses too and my hens dark eggs still attest to that.

No we haven't "met" - HELLO! This is pretty new to me, so I've been watching and trying to learn from everything that's been going on here.

I don't expect to make a "commercial" type bird, I just want a nice meaty for the table. And, I just love the look of the Cornish. Right now I'm trying to get some Barnevelder eggs - they have the same colorations as the Cornish, the dark egg (which I like), and from what I've read, a pretty decent size. But I think SteveH did some nice birds with his Am crosses. So I've got fingers crossed.
