I dropped another request for pics to the IL guy with WLRC .
I guess I've been around along enough to think its the norm for people to hype whatever they're selling with somewhat misguiding pics and/or claims ; not outright fraud but still distasteful to me . Its not just the businesses ; with the internet so widely used anybody with 6 hens , a rooster , a catchy name , and a website can suddenly become a producer of high quality stock . The words " buyer beware " are no less necessary today than they ever were .

Other than liking some of the dark Cornish pictured here [ on BYC ] purchased from the hatcheries they named , I don't have a clue . Actually I like the laced red chicks as day olds that I just got ; just don't know how they'll grow out . Like Katy , I'm not wanting some of the extreemly exagerated , " lowrider " show stock I've seen pictures of ; but also don't want all of that wide , thick , muscle lost . What I would like are something like the drawings you can find on websites that were the ideal standard of perfection many years ago ....... kind'a looking for that broadbreasted look that's still fully functional and very capable of livebreeding with high fertility .
ETA : some pics

A few of them at one day . The EEs were noticeably larger than the other two breeds which were about the same in everything but color . The EEs had slimmer shanks and narrower stance than the others . V

A CX and and an EE at three days . CX already catching up , and top end have passed all but one EE in size . V

A white laced red Cornish at three days . Probably one of the three smallest of the straight RLWC , but still showing a broad chest and wide stance like the CX , and on average have caught up to the EE in size . V

I have three SQ WLR roos and are very happy with them. None for sale and won't have any for a while but I thought I would post pics of them.
