Seriously, I've had to consider A.I.; if it comes to that, I may resort to that for one generation. The older, larger framed DC froze the ends off both his outside toes at the joint, and I'm sure that's not helping him. My hatchery sourced WLRC hens fight like wildcats when you pick one up, and while pretty good layers compared to what I hear of quality Cornish, not sure how much they would handle before shutting down the egg production. I hope not to have to find out. I really have a gut feeling that free range would really be a boost, but going to have to settle for a tractor on grass due to the wildlife and the landlord's "sweet" [
