Your Welcome! I like sharing my experiences when I think they will be useful. I have a few other tricks up my sleeve. Just waiting for the right time to share them.

Something very strange has happened in my LF White Cornish breeding pen, I started collecting eggs from there 12 days or so ago after the loss of the white teens, in the off chance very off chance some would be fertile. I candled them yesterday and low & behold I had 7 fertile and developing eggs, and get this the sire is the Old Hulk !!!. I had him in with his girls just for company until I could figure something else out for them, I suspect he may be topping the hen's as I saw some feet marks on their shoulders. I can't beleive he is doing this, I guess the new custom booster feed I have been mixing for him is helping, I am very excited as I have collected even more since then to drop in the bator in a few day's. So I am crossing my fingers in hopes some hatch.

Have you considered keeping him for a season to produce some big hens which should be good layers (Black Giant and Welsummer ) for your project?

Joe

I have considered it, but he is such a jerk, I don't even want to deal with him through this teenage phase. I don't want to breed that temperament into any of my birds. I had some jerks last year, but not any that did the damage he has done.

I sure hope so, I am however veiwing this new development through skepical eyes, don't want to get my hopes up.

He probably just decided he better get those gals fertile before he got another "Al massage".
