Red Laced Cornish X and project talk (pics p. 8)

I had a Trio of LF dark cornish delivered to Crossroads, they are young, but what do you all think. I don't care as much for one of the pullets, bt maybe with age ??

I suppose I'm not the outgoing type that thrusts myself forward to meet people........................... plus the trip left in me a bit dazed to be honest. On top of some pain from my ruptured discs and pinched nerves, the highway and street construction really worked on my nerves and added to a feeling of fatigue. [The exit ramp to my cheap motel was completely gone, and it took me and TomTom a long while to find a route to get to it

] I had a bit of van trouble returning; besides breaking the driver's side door handle and the autolock remote, it used half again as much fuel getting home as it did getting there and barely made it to a station when I realized I was driveing on "E". After alot of thought, I finally remembered reading something about 85% on the fuel pump in Indianapolis............................ I had evidently fueled up with E85 and my van isn't designed to run on it...................... my brain just wasn't working well at the time. I did, however, have a good time; and will do it again if possible............................... and hope to have entries the next time.

I know everyone (including me) would rather look at pics from the show, but here's an update on the black orp x dark cornish chick. 4 wks old now and all the brass a cornish has in personality lol. Feathered out so fast I was thinking pullet but I donno. Anyhow pics of the little mutt:

The other is a meatie that was all the feed store had left for a buddy lol. I *think* the meatie is a week younger than terdly here. I imagine in a week or two I can put it with some that are a couple weeks older anyway so yeah meatie friend will be on the menu.

I think so far it seems to have a decent build. Not looking for a real "typey" cornish build, just some good meat. It's growing fairly well in spite of how tiny it was when hatched (Medium egg). I doubt I'll be trying to hatch any more of these but I still find it interesting. We'll see as it grows.

WOW !! Sure hope things go better next time !!

The pair of Cornish I picked up at Crossroads, not from the breeder of those shown:

She's a little small but still has time to grow and develope; and I love her head.

Not fond of his ears/wattles/comb; but IMO is at least as good as bodied, and better headed, than the others I saw at Crossroads.............. and he may also fill in a bit more in time.
