Red mite? Need advice

I found one small small red mite crawling on an egg this afternoon but I don't know if its the dreaded red mite. It is bright red and six legged. I haven't noticed any infestation piles and my chickens look healthy. Will check butts tonight to see if they are infested but I don't think so.

Do you think I should put seven dust in the nest boxes? Will plain ole seven dust work? I have some left over from the gardening this year.

note on the left they mention chicken mite. That is the same as the red roost mite. The Northern Fowl Mite and the chicken (red) mite are two different bugs. Note the dust section toward the bottom and the withdrawal period.

thank you for the sites, I bookmarked them for future use. Going to check on the kind of Seven dust I have and apply if able (just in case).
