Red, raw bump on baby chick?

Hi ya'll! I just recently noticed one of the six baby chicks I'm raising has a slightly raised, red, raw bump under her wing. The chick is roughly around 3 weeks old, give or take a day, is a golden sex-link and overall is rather healthy. The bump is pinkish red and about as big as your thumb nail. It's right under the wing, I want to say on it's armpit for the sake of explaining best where it's at. To me it kind of resembles an ant bite, but I can't be sure. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it as of right now. I only noticed it within the past 2 hours perhaps.

I do put the babies out to catch some natural sun and heat during the day, I live in Florida so theirs plenty and they absolutely love it! They have a small pen so maybe it is possible it's an ant bite it got while lying down? Although it seems kind of a big to be. I just want to see if any of ya'll have seen a similar thing on your chicks or grown chickens and if I should be worried? This is my first time raising babies so I just want to be sure!

Tomorrow I'll probably examine the other five chicks and keep an eye on the one that has the bump! Maybe soak it in some warm water?

It's possible a bug bit her. In her wing pit you say? A pic would help, sometimes during all their mini molts on the way to adult feathers, the wing pits can be a little bare at times. I'm not too sure about topical antihistamines for chickens...Welcome to our flock!

ETA: yes I do think I know. When I lived in FL as a kid, we got champhophenique put on our bites. I believe it will be safe for the chick for a few days, especially if she's not tucking when she sleeps.

My chick has a weird see through blister bubble on it's neck. Eating, drinking & going to the bathroom fine. What could that be?!

Thank you so much justplainbatty, I'll diffidently check into using that for the chick. I'll see if I can get a good picture tomorrow in the daylight to post up! :) Oh, and also, thank you for the welcome!

I agree, a picture would diffidently help. But perhaps the blister is from a burn from the brooding lamp if you're still using one? And depending on the type of brooding cage you're using, for example if you're using metal/tin, it could have gotten really hot and the chick was sleeping against it and it caused a burn blister? I would suggest maybe getting some aloe vera if you have any leaves/plants around and getting the gel out from inside the leaves and putting a small bit of it on the blister, it'll work wonders! :)

Post a pic? would help us figure it out.

I found out on another forum that it was caused by too much food in the crop. I'm in California & I don't use a heat lamp. It's warm here. Overnight it went away 'cos it stopped eating & went to sleep. The person said to take just the food away for 1-2 hrs. & it should go away. & it did. Thank you for your reply. That was really nice of you.

So good news! My chicks bump is going down a lot! Last night I put some aloe vera on it twice before bed and this morning when I was going to take a picture it wasn't red anymore, and instead pinkish. I can still feel a small bump but it's smaller than it was last night. Also she wasn't very fidgety and fussy when I went to touch it and lift her wing today as she was last night. I guess to Aloe worked, and I'll keep the Champhophenique in mind if it happens again or gets any worse for any reason.

Glad she is better today! Aloe is perfect, I should have thought of that, duh, I grow aloe anyway!
