Red Barnyard mix (silkie/frizzle) over white Silkie hen . Any chance Chicks will show sex link colouring or will they just be a hodgepodge?

There's not much way to know, really. Your Silkie could be silver based or gold based, as her recessive white is covering up all pigment. With that said, if you hatch any silver chicks whatsoever, then she is silver based, and you will know that those chicks are male, and the females will be gold.
Ok thanks . There are 7 chicks due to hatch on Monday so will just have to wait and see how they will turn out . I don't know the silkies background as she's a rescue.

I'm excited to, I'm not hatching the eggs , I gave them away to a broody in need . But all 7 where developing at 7 days when candles and due to hatch Monday . I asked for photos as a condition of handing over the eggs .

So if there is sex linkage ( ie the silkie is a silver base ) boys would look kinda like the yellow colour on the left , and girls would look like the orange one on the right . But if there is no sex linkage all chicks will be orange? is that correct ?

Ps the red is the father at hatch , the grey is his half sister that has a silver based dad , but same mum
