Red, scaly skin, taking forever to grow feathers back.

I am happy to report his girl is doing much better. The redness is gone, feathers are growing back. I finally made hen aprons to protect their backs from curious pecks at new feather growth and red skin. Why I didn’t think of that months ago, could have saved a lot of suffering. She laid her first egg in 3 months today. So relieved
 
Update: she’s finally looking like a healthy hen again! It’s been a long 6 months! She only laid two eggs all summer, then started laying again this fall (no artificial light). Guess she’s our winter layer
