Red sexlinked versus rhode Island red.

Don't fret it, just get some, and start the hobby. Try and keep a flock, not forever friends, as often times hens don't live a real long age, but you can add new birds.
My main flock of now 5 hens and rooster are barred rock, we lost one hen two days ago, something, most likely the thieve fox that we keep deterring took one of my girls. In addition we have one pullet(should start laying soon 🤞) and two more roosters that I'm suspecting could be orpington mix. Currently have two babies that seem to be EE but my loyal barred rock are totally pausing their egg production and so I have been offered some hens hatched back in April that started laying in December. I'm seriously considering adding a couple to my main flock because we love eggs around here.

You really owe it to yourself to try the red sex links, never mind the shorter life span, they don’t care, they just lay and lay and lay while consuming less food. Roosters are rare.
Thank you 😊 The life span in my little farm can be questionable. We have a fox family that causes issues every now and again. I definitely will try them.
