by select unicolor i was indicating what varient it should be ie ginger, black tail, columbian ect.
I think I know what I need to do to get some results.

To me, those birds look to be a darker shade of buff, I would not really call them red.

This rooster I have would be what I consider red, and, he has a dark comb as well, ugly comb, but its a dark one. He is red, at least in comparison to the girls you can see scratching in the dirt in front of him

Here is a pic of a red silkie hen I came across while surfin' the web. You may have already seen this one, but just though I would post it again. I think this is a nice example of a red silkie.
