I'm a new egg. I have 4 pullets: RIR, Buff Orp, Black Aus, and Ameraucana. Got them 2 months ago. No Red Sex Links to speak of. We have neighbors about 15 feet away and no complaints so far. The Ameraucana makes some noise in the morning when she wants out. The rest are pretty quiet so far. No odor. I have a 10' x 8' coop and about a 10' x 15' run and I use lots of hay and straw in both. About 5" deep in the coop. I'm expecting eggs any day now. Good luck. You'll love having chickens.
