Red, warm, swollen bumps on legs

@ChickNanny13

I'm not sure if you have been reading another post somewhere and getting confused but the chicken is referred to as female by the OP several times in the opening post.

I would have said that the photos indicate there is a leg mite problem with that bird which may be getting infected, but Marek's disease can also cause such lesions, which can be cancerous.

My apologies, I stand corrected...The OP did refer to a female while CarolinaSunshineFlock is a Roo. Wonder how the OP's girl is doing and what she's done for treating. I'm still learning diseases, injuries & emergencies ... I hope I never have to deal with any but knowing you all are here with all your knowledge is very reassuring. I only have 4 BO at this time (limited space & living within town), they're Pets with Benefits .

Don't worry. I know how easy it is to get confused when you are reading so many different posts and trying to learn as much as you can, which is very commendable, especially when you are not needing that information to treat your own flock.

I really just wanted to clarify to others reading this, in case they saw your post and assimilated that connection without checking it.... it is so easy for connections to be made that are not really there and then others read it and pass it on as fact.... like a game of Chinese whispers where the phrase at the other end is nothing like that which it started out as.
I hope you are not discouraged from contributing to this and other threads. It might have been a very relevant fact, if you had been correct. :)

I thought it was good thinking to mention both roosters, although one isn't a rooster after all. But this is exactly how I approach problems: I observe and study the details in search of patterns.
