redd or white proso millet seeds?

Is their any differences between red proso as opposed to white proso millet? Which one would you recommend for feeding chickens?

I buy the white millet, but that's all they sell at my feed store I think. I have no clue about the red millet. I pay $16 per 50 lb.

Do you feed millet as a primary feed or as a secondary feed?
