OK as promised; updated pics of the 5 week olds . . . and no I don't remember who was named what
except Penny the CP.
Buff Orpingtons; initially I thought only there was only 1 male of 4, but another one is looking suspicious. I have older BO Pullets in the yard, so a second male would give me options based on temperment
BO1: The almost certain male. He wouldn't stop moving so the pictures are a bit blurry, but the red comb and wattles are still visible.
BO 2: possible male, wattles . .maybe
BO 3: Very pullet looking so far
BO 4: Another possible pullet
Black Tailed Red Marans; I think I have 1 male and 1 female
BTR 1: This one wouldn't pick her head up out of the feeder, but looks like a pullet so far
BTR 2: This one's large comb makes me think it's male . . but IDK
Lavender Ameraucanas: I'm thinking 2 males and 1 pullet, but I hope not. The 3rd one gave me a run for my money getting a good picture of it.
LA 1: This one's comb appears a bit red but nothing alarming
LA 2: This one looks like a pullet so far
LA 3: Another possible male . . .? The first picture the comb looks pretty red, but the rest really don't, yet.
Crele Penedesenca: Last, but not least . . .
Penny; known pullet . . .thankfully the two CPs that just hatched are male.
And in case anyone needs a belly laugh at my expense; this is what it took to get those pictures :
Fair warning there is a bit of cussing because I tripped on a feeder and nearly stepped on a chick. I also swear I'm not hurting the 3rd LA.
