I was productive while BYC was down, lol.
I added several hides in the run and added an extra set of feeders and waterers.
It was amazing how well it worked. After about an hour of the 11 and 12 week olds chasing the 4 weeks olds around they seemed to give up, lol.

I have 4 troublemakers in the batch of 11 and 12 week olds that I thought would never give up. Yesterday I put them out of the run with Sweety's flock of older chickens in the yard.Looks great!
My oldest ones seemed to lose interest in chasing the younger ones pretty quickly as well. My coop now has nearly 4 week olds to nearly 10 week olds. I've still got the run/pen inside the big run so the babies have a place to separate if they want, but they seem to be doing well together overall.
Yes they can. I totally agree with celebrating small victories. I've decided that no way in the world am I doing everything right. So when something fails spectacularly, I'm choosing to learn from it and move ahead knowing I won't do it again. And when we have a day with no issues, I embrace it.I have 4 troublemakers in the batch of 11 and 12 week olds that I thought would never give up. It seems that after a tune-up from Sweety when they went after her chicks they had an attitude adjustment towards chicks in general.
I know it's not over yet, I still need to introduce the 4 week olds the to Sweety's flock, the 7 and 5 month olds, but I've learned to celebrate the small victories. Things can quickly go from, "I love being a chicken keeper" to "How the ____ did that happen" in the blink of an eye.

Yep, same. I have times where if I would just get out of my own stubborn way and ask for help, either with best ways to do something or actual physical help, things would've gone so much better.Fails spectacularly . . .that's just too good of a description. There have been several times I've tried to figure things out on my own and occasionally it'll work out. Other times I just wish I'd asked for advice first before diving in, lol.
My catchphrase is . ."Well, what happened was . . . (insert assumption of my own ability here) and then (insert reality check here)"Yep, same.
